Administration
Almawrid was established to meet needs identified by Palestinian teachers. The Center is administered by a General Committee of School Teachers’ and university educators delegated by the Coordination Committee of the Government Schools Teachers’ Union, the Private Schools Teachers’ Union and the UNRWA Teachers’ Union. The General Committee elects the Executive Committee each two years period, which supervise the daily activities and the employee work.
Since the Center is of a professional nature, it is not an alternative to any teachers union in the area. Any person who has worked or is working in the field of education in the Palestinian community can benefit from the services and resources available at the Center. The revenues of the Center consist of donations and grants approved by the administrative council. The Center by–laws specify expenditure procedures to achieve the aims of the Center. The by–laws also set the powers and responsibilities of various councils, committees and positions available at the Center.
